2015 Masterclass Series off to a great start

2015 Masterclass Series
L-R: Carolynne Szady, Harrison Collins, Fiona Campbell, Katarina Frolov

Thanks to everyone who came to 2015's inaugural Performance Masterclass! We had a substantial audience in attendance, including many students, staff and members of the public.

The hugely talented Fiona Campbell (mezzo-soprano) worked with three undergraduate students (pictured) and the improvements made under her tutelage were noticeable, even after only fifteen minutes!

Here's what the students had to say:

"Fiona Campbell's masterclass was a fantastic experience. To work with someone so skilled at both their art and the art of pedagogy was a privilege, and I definitely took a lot away from it technically and professionally." Harrison Collins

“Working one on one with the distinguished Fiona Campbell was an amazing and insightful experience. Her advice was practical, and all who attended were able to learn valuable lessons in the art of singing.” Carolynne Szady

It proved to be a fascinating way to get inside the heads of musicians - often we forget, as listeners, about the many hours of practice and technical work that go into concert performance.

Once again, we thank Fiona for joining us at this masterclass - it was both educational and entertaining! Don't miss our violin masterclass with Dene Olding in April.

Special thanks also go to our illustrious accompanist, Patrick Keith (piano).
