October is a busy time for concerts on campus, with the UNSW Orchestra and UNSW Wind Symphony each presenting an enormous program in two full-length concerts!

On Friday October 13, the UNSW Orchestra takes on an immense and exciting program, Pines of Rome, beginning with Tchaikovsky's vibrant Capriccio Italien before soloist Tara Chan offers Schumann's lush Piano Concerto Op. 54.

The second half is a complete change of scene and instrumentation, with the monumental forces of Respighi's tone poem Pines of Rome, including offstage brass and resident nightingale!

A week later, Wild Fire! comes alive with the UNSW Wind Symphony, on Friday October 20. Works by leading wind symphony composers such as Mackey, Cichy, Markowski, Galanate, Ticheli and Presti, and Eric Whitacre's programmatic work Ghost Train are certain to make for a lively and entertaining occasion.

Tickets are available online for both Pines of Rome and Wild Fire! Come along and support UNSW's fabulous instrumental ensembles as they take on these fantastic programs - what an end to the year!
