We are thrilled to announce that today marks the opening of the Willgoss Choral Composition Prize, a new prize in support of UNSW's thriving choral program. This national prize is aimed at encouraging new works for unaccompanied choir, open to composers across Australia.

Long-term member of the choral program, Dr Richard Willgoss, and his wife Sue have generously provided a one-off prize offered as a way of supporting and inspiring composers of choral composition of the highest standard, with a focus on creativity and excellence. Applicants of the prize are requried to write an 8-10 minute new work for unaccompanied mixed choir, with the winning work to be performed by the Burgundian Consort in its annual evening recital in September 2017, and the winner of the Prize receiving a cash prize of $AUD3000.

The Prize opens on 8 August 2016 and closes on 31 January 2017 - for more information in Conditions of Entry and the Application process, please visit the Willgoss Choral Composition Prize page.
