Sonia Maddock

Having studied Music and Music Education at UNSW, Sonia immediately began working with the MPU in various roles, becoming Manager in 2003. At this time, Sonia also took on the additional role of Choral Director of the Collegium Musicum Choir and Burgundian Consort (now Corde), having been members of both ensembles during the previous ten years.

Sonia was a classical guitarist and has been a member of several choirs in Sydney, and has also undertaken additional studies in business and management while working at UNSW. In 2014-15, Sonia completed the inaugural Professional Women in Leadership program at UNSW. In 2017, she was fortunate to complete the 'Leading Culture in the 21st Century' program at King's College, London.

She completed a Master of Management at UNSW in 2024, graduating with Excellence. Her role as Director of Creative Communities includes oversight of the Music Performance Unit, Art Unit, cultural projects and events, and the Religious Centre.
