Checking-In With UNSW Orchestra From Conductor, Steven Hillinger

Dear UNSWO members,

I hope that you are all keeping well in these crazy times. MPU asked me to put together some short videos which may assist those of you undertaking part-checking exams soon.

I’m sure that many of you are already aware that several orchestras and organisations have made their online content available for free for the foreseeable future. Check them out if you’re interested.

Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra – Digital Concert Hall –

Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam -

San Francisco Symphony Orchestra – Keeping Score Documentary Series available on SFSO’s Youtube Chanel including docos on Copland, Stravinsky, Mahler, Ives and Shostakovich given by Michael Tilson-Thomas.

The Metropolitan Opera, New York is also streaming a different opera every 24 hours.

Free streaming of Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals (a different musical each week) is available from a YouTube channel titled The Shows Must Go On! where he’ll stream a different musical for fee every week. Each musical will be available for 48 hours from 7pm on Friday evenings (I believe that is UK time which would make it available for 48 hours from 4am on Saturday mornings).

The following link will take you to a page that has many other broadcasts and streams listed.

Finally, please feel free to contact me via email if you have any questions I may be able to help you with.

Take care and stay well
